On the strip of grass near the embankment there are four tractor cabins with a distance of about 3 meters from each other. You can enjoy the wide view over the salt marshes of the Dollard on top of the dike.
Sleeping accommodation The cabin can accommodate 4 adults. There is a separate bedroom with a double bed (1.60/1 mattress). In the living room you can turn the sofa into another double bed. No tent may be placed at the trekkershut. The site is not a campsite. Avoid a fine. Linen Bed linen (sleeping bag/duvet, duvet covers, bottom sheets and pillowcases) must be brought by yourself. Pillows are provided.
You must bring your own bath and kitchen linen, toilet paper, detergent and garbage bags. Pets are not allowed.
Cleaning costs are not calculated because you have to leave the cabin clean so that the next guest can stay in it immediately. If the cabin is not cleaned, we charge € 20 extra.
The Cabin has a kitchen unit with 2-burner electric stove. There is no refrigerator. Also no coffee maker, but a percolator and whistle kettle. The cabin is also equipped with a pan set, cutlery and crockery and the cabin has heating. Each cabin has its own toilet and shower.

On the edge of the Netherlands lies a pristine nature reserve of over a thousand hectares of salt marsh and seven thousand hectares of dry mudflats. The meeting between salt and fresh water makes the Dollard unique. In the brackish tidal landscape, plants such as the sea aster and wading and water birds feel perfectly at home.
Opposite the Trekkershutten, halfway through the polder is the Dollart Süd forest (colloquially: Ambonezenbosje). Between 1942 and 1945 it housed the German Batterie Dollart Süd. Between 1945 and 1950 an internment camp for NSB employees was established. Between 1953 and 1961, the camp was used for the temporary accommodation of about 300 Ambonese.
From the A7 you take Exit 47 towards Winschoten, Pekela's and Beerta, then take the exit to Beerta at the roundabout. The Oostereinde turns into the Hoofdstraat n966. After 610 meters, turn left towards Wilhelminaplein, onto Oudeweg. After 800 meters turn left at C. G. wiegersweg. At the intersection, turn right towards Hoofdweg / Modderland. Via Ganzendijk and hungry Wolf you go towards Reiderwolderpolder. You go past the house towards the dike.
